My Portfolio

For this project, I drew inspiration from the rich spectrum of brown found in nature. From the deep, earthy tones of soil to the warm hues of wood and the diverse skin tones of people, I was fascinated by the depth and variation within this single colour.

I explored how different shades interact and how organic shapes can be used to reflect the natural elegance of the earth. This journey led to the creation of Earthen Elegance, a project that captures the warmth, texture, and beauty found in nature’s neutral palette.

Earthen Elegance

For this project, I delved into the colour purple, its historical significance, and its symbolism. From its biblical roots as a colour of royalty and priestly garments to its presence in nature, I was drawn to its depth and meaning. I experimented with various shades of purple to craft garments reflecting its regal and spiritual essence.

I also explore the balance between structure and fluidity, using a colour-blocking technique to create garments that express duality. The focus is on geometric forms, symmetry, and fabric interplay to reflect confidence and individuality.

A Play on Contrast

For this project, I explored beading techniques while working on blazers. I wanted my design to have a striking contrast, so I dyed my calico navy blue to make the pink details pop. Instead of using actual beads, I experimented with painting them onto the fabric, creating an illusion of beading.

Throughout the process, I explored various techniques like smocking and decorative button placement before settling on painted circular patterns to mimic beads. This project allowed me to push creative boundaries while maintaining a structured and wearable design.

Beaded Illusion Blazer

This one is all about exploring the interplay between colour, structure, and emotion. The collection contrasts deep, moody blues with striking pink accents, symbolising creativity and resilience. The designs incorporate bold silhouettes and intricate detailing, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.

These are some of my examples of exploring the art of shaping fabric directly on a mannequin to create dynamic, sculptural silhouettes. The project experiments with pleats, gathers, and asymmetrical drapes to achieve unique, fluid forms that highlight the interplay between structure and softness.
